The October edition of Apex Magazine went online this week, with my story To Dream of Stars: An Astronomer’s Lament among the table of contents and available for free online or via print or PDF for a reasonable cover price.
I should probably mention that of all the stories I’ve written, Horn included, this one is probably the weirdest and the squickiest. And since the working title was “John Flamsteed has sex with aliens to save the world” you should probably get fair warning that it’s a little on the smutty side, so it’s probably not safe for work unless your co-workers are particularly forgiving of alien-sex. Not that it’s all squicky sex, or even that it’s the focus, but…well, you know…it’s there.

Hmm, I haven't read Horn (been meaning to, have heard some great stuff about it), but isn't Horn about women being raped by unicorns? That's way worse than sex with aliens. 😛
I read Horn just the other night, and I thought "wow, Peter is a different person on the inside than he is on the outside" :-). I must track down Apex, weird and squicky is fine by me.
Is Apex for sale at any shop in Brisbane? Pulp Fiction's never heard of it, Borders doesn't have it. Now my feet are sore. Buying a PDF doesn't feel right. Can't hit flies with a PDF.
The "print" link above is your only option, I think. American small-press magazines tend not to get Australian distribution, especially folks like Apex whose approach tends to be free Web release, with print/anthology/PDF options for folks who prefer those formats (or who just want to support the 'zine).
